Abdullah works in agriculture and harvested crops. Four years ago, his father left the family and went to Khartoum to work and they never heard from him again, Abdullah believes that he escaped. Sometimes he works with his uncle, who took care of him, in a small pickup vehicle. They transport people from the other villages to Tendelti during the rainy season where we met. Because of the violent treatment and punishment, Abdullah decided to leave the school before finishing the third grade of secondary school. I connected with Abdullah because his story reminded me of my struggles with school and the beating. In those days, I hated school and was afraid to go, I couldn't even tell my family that I wanted to leave school.
